Tottenham warehouse fire: 100 firefighters tackle huge blaze in London

Around 100 firefighters are tackling a warehouse blaze in London.

There are 15 fire engines at the scene of the blaze in Garman Road, Tottenham, which started early this morning.

Smoke rising from the blaze can be seen across north London.

Fire service station manager Mike Cotton, who is at the scene, said: "Firefighters are working hard to bring the blaze on the industrial estate under control. The fire is not affecting any residential properties."

The fire brigade was called at 12.10am.

London Fire Brigade is urging residents in the area to close their doors and windows, due to the heavy smoke.

Resident Carl Wilson tweeted: "I live several miles away from the fire in Tottenham but the ash cloud is covering everything in its path... I think it would be a good idea to keep your windows closed today."

Fire crews from Tottenham and surrounding fire stations are attending the scene.

The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.

There blaze is reportedly causing traffic problems on the North Circular ring-road.

There are no reports of anyone being injured in the blaze.

The inferno follows another warehouse fire in Neasden, London, last week.
