Tottenham vs Slavia Prague LIVE!
Tottenham returned to winning ways with a 3-0 victory over Slavia Prague in the Champions League. The north Londoners had been beaten 5-3 by Paris Saint-Germain in their last European outing, throwing away two leads at the Parc des Princes in a thriller. However, on an emotional evening when Heung-Min Son returned to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, it was an own goal from David Zima and two penalties- one from Mohammed Kudus and one from Xavi Simons - that gave Thomas Frank’s side a much-needed three points. The Dane was beginning to feel the pressure after just one win in their last six in all competitions, and they continued their momentum from the 2-0 victory against Brentford at the weekend to brush a physical Slavia aside in the capital.
Spurs sprung out of the blocks early as visiting goalkeeper Jindrich Stanek denied Richarlison inside the first minute, and Wilson Odobert continued to shine bright down the left. Stanek was called into action time and time again to thwart Richarlison, who would go without a goal in his second successive start as a striker. Stanek’s inspired shot-stopping would eventually be breached as Zima powered a header beyond his own goalkeeper from a Pedro Porro corner, which Cristian Romero had flicked on at the near post on 26 minutes. It was two five minutes into the second half as Youssoupha Sanyang chopped down Pedro Porro viciously in the box, and Kudus stepped up to stroke home.
Simons was the next to notch from 12 yards in the dying embers, darting onto a Randal Kolo Muani knockdown after a superb burst from Lucas Bergvall. He was felled by Igoh Ogbu, and the Dutchman duly did the honours to wrap up the points. Mathys Tel made his first appearance in Europe’s top competition for Spurs just a day after he was added into the Champions League squad in place of the injured Dominic Solanke. The Frenchman had initially been omitted when the first squad was submitted back in September. Now, this victory lifts Tottenham into eighth in the Champions League table, and it is a step very much in the right direction for Frank and his men as they prepare to face Nottingham Forest at the weekend.

Son sends Spurs message in emotional homecoming
20:49 , Oli GentHeung-min Son said Tottenham "will always be my home" as he returned to the club.
The South Korean ended his ten years as a Spurs player when announcing his departure during the club's pre-season tour to his home country in the summer.
That meant he did not have the chance to say an official goodbye to the home fans at the time.
HT: Tottenham 1-0 Slavia Prague
20:47 , Oli GentThere's the interval, and Spurs go in ahead. It's not been a thriller so far, but there's still time. What will the second half have in store?
Tottenham 1-0 Slavia Prague
20:46 , Oli Gent45+1 min: One added minute.
Matt Verri reports
20:46 , Oli Gent45 mins: Romero has basically decided he'll play up front since going down awkwardly about five minutes ago. Full of energy when bursting forward - less so in getting back. Frank might be tempted to bring him off at half-time after that injury scare. He was holding his back in the centre circle for the last few minutes.
Matt Verri reports
20:42 , Oli Gent42 mins: Bit of a 'making up as he goes along' vibe from this ref. Palhinha launches himself into a great challenge and ends up getting booked for it. Doudera bought that with some excellent theatrics.
Tottenham 1-0 Slavia Prague
20:39 , Oli Gent39 mins: Close! That’s a chance for Slavia! It’s worked down the left and Provod has a chance in the box, but his effort is tame and Vicario claims with ease!
Tottenham 1-0 Slavia Prague
20:36 , Oli Gent36 mins: Spence has had full licence to maraud forwards at will from left-back, and he’s a real danger when the ball is clipped in behind.
Tottenham 1-0 Slavia Prague
20:34 , Oli Gent33 mins: How will Slavia respond after that disappointment? More importantly, how will Spurs respond? Will they go for the jugular?
Matt Verri reports
20:30 , Oli Gent28 mins: Lovely finish that from Zima to be fair, even if there was the small problem of it being into his own net. Ogbu then booked for as obvious a pull back as you'll ever see. Not a great few minutes for the Slavia defenders.
Goal! Tottenham 1-0 Slavia Prague
20:28 , Oli Gent26 mins: Spurs are in front, and it’s their 100th Champions League goal. It’s an own goal from Zima from the corner, and it’s a brilliant ball in from Porro. Romero flicks it on at the near post, and it cannons in off the head of the left-back!
Tottenham 0-0 Slavia Prague
20:25 , Oli Gent24 mins: Close! Good build-up from the visitors as a cross is swung in from the right, and Sadilek nods just over!
Tottenham 0-0 Slavia Prague
20:22 , Oli Gent21 mins: Some neat play between Spence and Simons, and Kudus sends in a wicked cross across the ground. It’s in towards Odobert who thinks he’s got a tap-in, but it’s well defended on the line! Corner.
Matt Verri reports
20:18 , Oli Gent18 mins: Such a pointless yellow card for Van de Ven and he's now suspended for Borussia Dortmund's visit next month. Big, big blow for Spurs.
Tottenham 0-0 Slavia Prague
20:17 , Oli Gent16 mins: Two early bookings. One for Chaloupek for that challenge on Simons, and Van de Ven for a strong but late tackle in his own half.
That is costly, as it means that he will be suspended for the trip to Dortmund.
Matt Verri reports
20:15 , Oli Gent15 mins: Stanek has made three saves inside 15 minutes here. Spurs have needed weeks to have that many shots on target for most of this season. A corner finally turned?
Tottenham 0-0 Slavia Prague
20:14 , Oli Gent14 mins: Good save! Simons rides a rough challenge and the ball breaks for Richarlison. The Brazilian picks it up and blasts one from distance, but Stanek is equal to it.
Tottenham 0-0 Slavia Prague
20:14 , Oli Gent13 mins: Close! A first sighting of goal for the visitors as Sanyang darts down the right and looks for Provod, who comes onto it and hits one frmo range, but it’s wide of the target.
Tottenham 0-0 Slavia Prague
20:12 , Oli Gent12 mins: Kudus is over it, but Stanek punches clear.
Tottenham 0-0 Slavia Prague
20:12 , Oli Gent11 mins: Odobert has been a threat in the opening minutes down the left, with the Frenchman using his pace against Holes. It comes back into the central area for Romero, who plays a searching ball over the top for Kudus to chase. The winger tries to poke it home, but he’s under strong pressure from Zima as Stanek makes the save. Corner, Spurs.
Tottenham 0-0 Slavia Prague
20:10 , Oli Gent9 mins: Slavia are dropping deep and looking to invite Spurs onto them. Not much by way of chances for the hosts since the early one for Richarlison.
Tottenham 0-0 Slavia Prague
20:07 , Oli Gent6 mins: A direct and physical start from Slavia, but a really fast one from Spurs. The visiting fans are vocal in these opening exchanges.
Matt Verri reports
20:03 , Oli Gent3 mins: Nearly the perfect start. Good to see Odobert being that positive and direct at the first opportunity and it's a great ball in. Richarlison should have scored, but to be fair to him that's an outrageous save from Stanek.
Tottenham 0-0 Slavia Prague
20:02 , Oli Gent2 mins: What a chance! Inside the first minute as Odobert flashes a cross in towards Richarlison, and Stanek saves from point-blank range!
Kick off!

Slavia XI

Subs: Saracevic, Chory, Dorley, Hashioka, Kusej, Markovic, Mbodji, Prekop, Schranz, Vlcek, Zafeiris
Matt Verri reports
19:00 , Oli GentJust a couple of changes for Spurs, which near enough translates as an unchanged lineup by Frank's standards.
Palhinha comes into the midfield and Odobert gets a start on the left wing. There's been plenty of talk about Tel coming into the Champions League squad - he's only on the bench.

Standard Sport prediction
18:10 , Oli GentSpurs will be confident of getting another positive result on Tuesday, even with their inconsistent form. Slavia Prague have managed to secure three draws from their five games in the Champions League this season, but have not scored since the opening-round draw with Bodo/Glimt.
Frank’s side are superior across the pitch and an attacking display similar to that on Saturday should secure a comfortable victory.
Tottenham to win, 2-0.
Son returns to Spurs!
18:00 , Oli GentHeung-min Son is back to wave a proper goodbye to Tottenham this evening.
Tottenham team news
17:50 , Oli GentTottenham are without Destiny Udogie due to injury, with Brennan Johnson also a doubt. Mathys Tel remains ineligible for the game.
Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski remain sidelined for the foreseeable future, along with James Maddison. Radu Dragusin played another training ground friendly last week, but is also not registered for the competition. The same goes for summer signing Kota Takai.
Xavi Simons assisted one and scored a stunning second against Brentford, so deserves to keep his place. Lucas Bergvall and Wilson Odobert are options to come into the attack.
