Tottenham vs Newcastle
Premier League 2018-19
Venue: Wembley Stadium
Date: Saturday, February 2, 2019
Kick-off: 12:30pm GMT
Tottenham host Newcastle United at Wembley this weekend having strengthened their grip on top four - and, perhaps, even given themselves an outside shot at the Premier League title.
Mauricio Pochettino has had to contend with a serious injury crisis of late, but Spurs have won their last two games - both late 2-1 wins over Fulham and Watford - to put themselves seven points clear of fifth-placed Chelsea.
With Champions League qualification looking an increasingly strong bet, Pochettino and his players may even forgive themselves a quick glance up the table - Spurs trail second-placed Manchester City by two points, and leaders Liverpool by seven.
However, Rafa Benitez's Newcastle may be unwelcome visitors to Newcastle having just beaten Manchester City 2-1 at home in midweek.
Tottenham team news and predicted line-up
Harry Kane (ankle) and Dele Alli (hamstring) remain out until early March, while Ben Davies (groin) is unavailable.
Heung-min Son - back with a crucial goal against Watford - suffered cramp late on against Watford, but should be fit to start.
Tottenham XI: Lloris, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Trippier, Winks, Sissoko, Rose, Eriksen, Llorente, Son
Score prediction: Tottenham 2-1 Newcastle
Spurs have not been at their best of late as they lack a number of key players, but have developed a knack of scoring late winners.
Newcastle will be buoyed by their win over Man City and completing the club-record signing of Miguel Almiron, but Spurs should have enough to get over the line.
