Tottenham vs Manchester City: Kevin De Bruyne concerned by condition of the Wembley pitch after latest NFL fixture

Kevin De Bruyne has expressed concern over the state of the Wembley pitch for Manchester City's visit to face Tottenham on Monday.

The game was originally scheduled to take place to Tottenham's new stadium, only for construction delays to switch the fixture to their temporary home.

Sunday's game between Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars means City and Spurs face off a day later than planned and around 28 hours after the NFL contest.

De Bruyne has two games under his belt after over two months out with a knee injury and is concerned at the possible condition of the playing surface.

Asked if he had played on an American football pitch before, he said: "Yes, in pre-season. It's not nice, it's going to be difficult.

"I'm not sure how it's going to be. We hope it will be OK and we can play like we normally do.

"These games are the most important ones. We have to go and show our intent to stay on the top. They'll try to do the same because they are close (to us). It's a big one."
