Tottenham vs Man Utd odds, predictions and best bets as Premier League returns

After a 100-day gap, it's back.

Premier League football returned on Wednesday with Sheffield United playing their game in hand - and staying in sixth place. Now United have the opportunity to make a charge for the Champions League places.

With the absence of any supporters in the Spurs stadium no-one knows quite what to expect, especially punters planning a first wager since the restart.

So we asked our United expert Richard Fay for some specialist insight.

Win, lose or draw?

Draw - It is hard to ignore the form of both sides prior to the three month break, but you have to expect a significant response from Tottenham and Jose Mourinho. United have significantly improved their creative output since January, but with match fitness at a premium it might take a while for things to click again. United are actually favourites with thepools.com 7/5 as opposed to Spurs' 2/1 . But the draw at 12/5 still looks the best bet.

Who’s a good bet for 1st scorer?

Anthony Martial - His form has been tremendous since Marcus Rashford's injury, and he has developed a knack of scoring in big away games this season (City and Chelsea). At 4/1 first scorer and 11/8 anytime he's also a better price than his striking partner.

Who’s on pens?

Bruno Fernandes - He netted one in a practice game against West Brom last week and should be even cooler from the spot with no home fans to put him off. 13/2 first scorer and 11/5 any time are both worthy of consideration.

Will United keep a clean sheet?

No - United have nine clean sheets in their last 11 matches, so the temptation is quite clearly there. Yet most games still bring with them nervy defensive moments, and it is hard to knock the attacking power of Tottenham. The draw and Both Teams To Score is a big 3/1 but Both Teams To Score as a standalone bet is a decent 7/10 .

Will the absence of fans help or hinder?

Help - This is a game which Tottenham need to win and without their home fans the advantage must be with United. Ole Gunnar Solskajer's side thumped LASK Linz behind-closed-doors back in March and the squad coped tremendously with the circumstances.
