Tottenham vs Man Utd
International Champions Cup 2019
Venue: Hongkou Football Stadium, Shanghai, China
Date: Thursday, July 25, 2019
Kick-off time: 12:30pm BST

Manchester United and Tottenham meet in Shanghai on Thursday, with one of the Premier League sides set to lose their unbeaten pre-season status.

Spurs kicked off their summer preparations with a thrilling 3-2 win over Juventus in Singapore, with Harry Kane lobbing Wojciech Szczesny from the halfway line in injury time to seal the victory.

As for United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have won all three of their pre-season matches so far against Perth Glory (2-0), Leeds United (4-0) and Inter Milan (1-0) - and the Red Devils will want to lay down a marker after finishing sixth in the Premier League last season.

Here's what you need to know...

Predicted lineups and team news

Tottenham will be without captain Hugo Lloris, who has returned home following a bout of tonsillitis. Tanguy Ndombele is likely to be handed his first Spurs start after impressing off the bench against Juventus, notching an assist for Lucas Moura almost immediately after coming off the bench.

As for United, Romelu Lukaku is once again likely to be absent as the Belgian striker continues to seek a move - though Inter Milan have yet to meet the Red Devils' £80million asking price, offering only £54m so far.

Tottenham XI: Gazzaniga; Walker-Peters, Tanganga, Vertonghen, Georgiou; Skipp, Sissoko, Ndombele; Lucas, Son, Kane

Prediction: Tottenham 2-2 Man Utd (penalty shootout)

This match will be a real test for both sides. Spurs showed great resolve to battle back for a win against Juve late on, but United will have more fitness having starting their preparations earlier.

Expect this one to go to a penalties, unless the Red Devils nick it in the final third as Spurs potentially tire.

Head-to-head history and results (h2h)

United have a clear edge in results against Tottenham, beating Spurs 91 times, losing 52 games, and drawing 48.

However, recent history has seen the gap close with the sides trading four wins apiece in their last eight meetings, with Spurs beating United 3-0 at Old Trafford last August before Marcus Rashford's goal saw the Red Devils leave Wembley with a 1-0 away win in February.
