Tottenham vs Inter Milan
Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London
Kick-off time: 3pm BST
Date: Sunday, 4 August
Tottenham round off their pre-season campaign back at home against Inter Milan on Sunday.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are back in the capital after a successful Audi Cup campaign in Germany where they saw off Real Madrid before beating Bayern Munich on penalties on Wednesday.
Ahead of their Premier League opener against Aston Villa, Spurs test themselves against Inter, who are still hoping to sign Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku before next week’s deadline.
Pochettino will be hoping for an addition or two of his own – but will be focused on fine-tuning his current group against the Nerazzurri on Sunday.
Tottenham vs Inter team news and possible XIs
Juan Foyth suffered what appeared to be a serious ankle injury against Bayern, stretchered off in the second-half of that contest.
With Serge Aurier also injured it leaves Spurs with a shortage of right-back options with Kyle Walker-Peters now Pochettino’s only recognised option.
Ben Davies, Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama all missed the Audi Cup matches through injury.
Possible Tottenham starting XI: Lloris, Walker-Peters, Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Rose, Sissoko, Winks, Lamela, Alli, Son Heung-min, Kane
Possible Inter starting XI: Handanovic, Skriniar, Godin, de Vrij, Candreva, Barella, Brozovic, Sensi, Dalbert, Perisic, Esposito
Prediction: Tottenham 2-0 Inter Milan
Spurs are building up some impressive momentum ahead of their season opener at Villa and will be determined to sign off pre-season on a high in front of their own fans.
