Tottenham vs Crystal Palace
Premier League 2019/20 season
Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Date: Saturday, 14th September, 2019
Kick-off time: 3pm BST
Tottenham and Crystal Palace meet in a London derby on Saturday as Mauricio Pochettino and Roy Hodgson both seek a winning start to action back after the international break.
Palace are flying high in fourth place with seven points from their opening four Premier League matches, including a superb 2-1 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford.
As for Spurs, Pochettino's side have collected five points following a few tough games, losing 1-0 at home to Newcastle as well as surrendering a two-goal north London derby lead to eventually draw 2-2 at Arsenal.
The pattern of the game will likely be possession for Spurs and counter-attacking from Palace, meaning the result could be decided by whether the hosts can find their finishing boots.
Team news and predicted lineups
Giovani Lo Celso has added to Tottenham's injury problems with the summer loan signing expected to be out until late October at the earliest.
Juan Foyth (ankle) is out while Davinson Sanchez (ankle) is unlikely to return.
There is better news for Pochettino with Tanguy Ndombele (thigh), Eric Dier (hip) and Kyle Walker-Peters (thigh) expected to be available along with Ryan Sessegnon, who could make his debut.
Scott Dann (wrist) should be back for Palace, while James Tomkins (groin) is also on the comeback trail - but Martin Kelly (groin) is out.
Tottenham XI: Lloris; Walker-Peters, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose; Ndombele, Winks; Son, Eriksen, Alli; Kane
Crystal Palace XI: Guaita; Ward, Dann, Cahill, Van Aanholt; McArthur, Milivojevic, Kouyate; Zaha, Ayew, Schlupp
Prediction: Tottenham 2-1 Crystal Palace
Palace have already claimed one big away win this season at Old Trafford, and look well set up to frustrate teams before hitting them on the counter.
However, the Eagles are clearly lacking consistency, and Harry Kane is in red-hot form after four goals during the international break - and that should be enough to get Spurs over the line.
