Tottenham vs Chelsea: Prediction, kick-off time, TV, live stream, team news, h2h results, odds

Tottenham vs Chelsea in Premier League - (ES Composite)

Tottenham and Chelsea face off under the lights on Saturday in what will be another fiercely contested Premier League derby.

In a fixture that rarely disappoints, Spurs host the Blues looking to end a miserable run against their London rivals, which consists of one league win in 13 meetings.

Thomas Frank’s side may be sitting pretty in third spot heading into the weekend, but the squad has been decimated by injuries, with 12 first-team players either ruled out or doubtful for this game.

It is the start of a tough run for Spurs, who face Manchester United, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain over their next four fixtures, while Chelsea.

Chelsea, meanwhile, were able to give Joao Pedro the night off as they eventually saw off Wolves to reach the Carabao Cup quarter-finals, while the likes of Enzo Fernandez and Moises came off the bench in the second half.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Tottenham vs Chelsea team news

A new manager, a new season, but the same old injury problems for Spurs, who are very likely to be without 10 first-team players for the visit of Chelsea, following Archie Gray’s calf injury. There are also doubts over Guglielmo Vicario’s fitness and an issue for Wilson Odobert.

Amid ongoing concerns over captain Cristian Romero’s fitness, Micky van de Ven has given the night off as Spurs exited the Carabao Cup. Mohamed Kudus - another mainstay under Frank - was only introduced in the second half and was lucky to avoid injury after a typically reckless tackle from Joelinton.

Chelsea were also able to give some players some much-needed rest, with Joao Pedro not involved in their Carabao Cup victory over Wolves, while Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo - who Enzo Maresca said have been juggling fitness niggles - only called upon late on.

Otherwise Maresca largely has a clean bill of health, with Cole Palmer still several weeks away from returning and Levi Colwill ruled out for the season.

Tottenham vs Chelsea prediction

Spurs have an abysmal record against Chelsea and, given their mounting injuries, it is tough to see that ending this weekend.

Thomas Frank was able to give a couple of players a rest, but will again likely need to call upon Joao Palhinha, who again played 90 minutes in midweek to shore up his midfield, against the likes of Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, which is where this game will be won or lost.

Chelsea’s superior depth should be the deciding factor, and could make it a very difficult evening for their hosts.
