Tottenham 1-0 Chelsea
EFL Cup, semi-final first leg
Venue: Wembley Stadium
Tottenham will take a narrow lead into the second leg of their League Cup semi-final with London rivals Chelsea after a Harry Kane penalty saw them win 1-0 at Wembley.
The hosts needed the help of the video assistant referee on the night after the England captain was denied the spot kick at first, before the decision was correctly overturned for Kane to notch the decisive goal.
Chelsea enjoyed much more of the possession in the second half but could not break down a resolute Tottenham.
Andreas Christensen missed the target at a corner with the best chance of the second half as Spurs hung on to their 1-0 lead to take the honours in the semi-final first leg.
