It’s the League Cup takes centre stage this evening after the final batch of FA Cup encounters, with Tottenham and Chelsea in semi-final action.
The first of their two-legged tie takes place at Wembley, and both Mauricio Pochettino and Maurizio Sarri are expected to name strong XIs this evening.
As is customary for Tottenham in the cup competitions this season, Argentine goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga is expected to start in goal with captain Hugo Lloris given a rest. That means Harry Kane will take the armband as he leads the Spurs attack.
Danny Rose will keep his place at left back, while Kieran Trippier is expected to replace Serge Aurier despite the Ivorian’s brace in the 7-0 at Tranmere on Friday.
Harry Winks will partner Moussa Sissoko in midfield, with Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Heung-min Son supporting Kane in attack.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are expected to name a near full-strength side this evening – inclusive of No1 goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The defence will consist of Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger, David Luiz and Marcos Alonso, while Sarri is set to name N’Golo Kante and Jorginho alongside Mateo Kovacic in midfield.
The front three will consist of Willian, Alvaro Morata and Eden Hazard.
