Tottenham vs Burnley: Premier League prediction, team news, live stream, TV channel - preview

Jose Mourinho's honeymoon is over after Tottenham lost for the first time under his tutelage and now welcome Burnley to N17.

A lacklustre performance at Old Trafford ended Mourinho's perfect start, with two errors gifting Manchester United goals either side of a remarkable equaliser from Dele Alli.

Beating Burnley is now considered a must with the top four looking ever-increasingly unlikely after a few days of hope, though Spurs boast a near-perfect home record against the Sean Dyche's side.

Burnley come into the game of the back of consecutive defeats, to Sheffield United and Manchester City, and have just one win on the road - and Watford last month - this season.

The game is on Saturday, December 7, with kick-off at 3pm.

Team news and lineups

Tottenham: Dele Alli is almost the first name on the teamsheet now after a remarkable return to form under Jose Mourinho. He should again take up the no.10 position with Christian Eriksen on the bench.

The Harry Winks-Moussa Sissoko midfield pair did not work against United and both could be swapped out for Tanguy Ndombele and Eric Dier, the former improving his side when coming on on Wednesday and the latter an otherwise ever-present under Mourinho.

Mourinho has a question to answer at left-back, with Jan Vertonghen starting the last few days but Danny Rose waiting in the wings. Ben Davies is out for the foreseeable.

Burnley: Ashley Westwood and Charlie Taylor are in a race to be fit for the game, though a place on the bench is more likely than starts. Johann Berg Gudmundsson has been ruled out.

How we think the sides could line up…

Tottenham: Gazzaniga; Aurier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Vertonghen; Ndombele, Dier; Lucas, Dele, Son; Kane

Burnley: Pope; Bardsley, Tarkowski, Mee, Pieters; Drinkwater, Cork, Lennon, Brady; Barnes, Wood
