Tottenham and Arsenal faced off in a north London derby ‘friendly’ today ahead of the new Premier League season.
The rivals, along with Chelsea, have been involved in a round-robin Mind charity series in pre-season, with the three capital clubs raising money for a good cause and also shake out the cobwebs before another gruelling campaign.
It was Spurs who claimed early season bragging rights in Nuno Espirito Santo’s first NLD as Spurs boss, a big confidence boost for the squad and the new manager amid ongoing uncertainty over Harry Kane’s furutre as the striker looks to join Manchester City.
Heung-min Son scored the only goal after Dele Alli had earlier twice hit the post.
As for Arsenal, Mikel Arteta is busy trying to add to his squad following a disappointing 2020/21 campaign and will not have been overly impressed by what he saw from his current crop.
Due to the result, Chelsea won the Mind Series.
