Tottenham v West Ham preview: Rivals both in need of Premier League derby win

Tottenham and West Ham meet this evening in a Premier League London derby both sides need to win.

Spurs restarted their season with a 1-1 draw against Manchester United on Friday night - a result that showed promise, but also leaves Jose Mourinho's side with a real battle to qualify for Champions League qualification.

Things are much more perilous for West Ham, as a 2-0 home defeat to Wolves on Saturday leaves David Moyes' Hammers above the relegation zone on goal difference alone.

Date, time and venue

Tottenham vs West Ham is scheduled for a 8:15pm BST kick-off on Tuesday, June 23, 2020.

The match will be behind closed doors at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with no fans due to be present due to government guidelines regarding coronavirus.

How to watch

TV channel: The match will be shown live on Sky Sports' Premier League and Main Event channels with coverage from 8pm, and is available via Now TV with a day pass for £9.99.

Live stream: Sky Sports subscribers can stream the match online via SkyGo and the SkyGo app, with a mobile month pass available for £5.99.

Team news

Tottenham XI: Lloris, Aurier, Sanchez, Dier, Davies, Sissoko, Dele Alli, Lucas Moura, Lo Celso, Son, Kane

Subs: Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Winks, Lamela, Sessegnon, Gazzaniga, Bergwijn, Ndombele, Fernandes

West Ham XI: Fabianski, Fredericks, Balbuena, Diop, Cresswell, Noble, Rice, Soucek, Bowen, Antonio, Fornals

Subs: Yarmolenko, Felipe Anderson, Lanzini, Wilshere, Ogbonna, Ajeti, Xande Silva, Randolph, Johnson

Referee: Craig Pawson

Prediction: Tottenham 2-1 West Ham

Neither side looked particularly convincing in their first games back, though Mourinho will be heartened by Spurs' first-half display vs Man United.

West Ham will need a serious upturn in form to trouble Spurs, and a home win looks likely - but Mourinho's men looked tired enough on Friday to suggest it could be close.

Head to head (h2h) history and results

Spurs have won 23 of the 47 Premier League meetings between the two clubs, with West Ham taking 15 victories along with nine draws shared.

Spurs won 3-2 at London Stadium earlier this season in Mourinho's first match as head coach, but the Hammers won 1-0 on their last visit to north London in April 2019 courtesy of a Michail Antonio goal.
