Tottenham transfer rumours: Spurs eye Liverpool target, Lloris wanted, Araujo on the move

Tottenham Hotspur will take on Marine this afternoon in what is the biggest mismatch in FA Cup history, there are 161 league places between the two, with Spurs sitting fourth in the Premier League and Marine sixth in the Northern Premier League North/West Division.

Jose Mourinho's concentration will be firmly on avoiding the potential banana skin in store, but in the midst of the January transfer window, his club will be looking to build on their positive start and challenge for trophies later in the season. Spurs are keeping tabs on a number of players' but also have their work cut out to hold onto some of their current stars.

With that in mind, we have an update on two potential targets and the fight to hold onto their captain.

Here is a round-up of the latest Tottenham transfer rumours.

Marine v Tottenham: FA Cup third-round preview

Spurs eye Sven Botman

Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen to go head-to-head with Liverpool for the signature of Lille centre-back Sven Botman, according to transfer expert Duncan Castles on the Transfer Window podcast.

Botman has been a mainstay in the French club's defence this season, starting all 19 league games, helping his team to second place in Ligue 1, just one point behind leaders Lyon. Lille are keen to keep hold of the Dutchman until at least the end of the season so a January transfer may be problematic for Spurs.

PSG keen on Hugo Lloris

Former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochetinno is now at the helm of Paris Saint-Germain and is looking to raid his old club.

Football Insider is reporting that Pochetinno wants to link up with his former Spurs captain Hugo Lloris and will be willing to offer the France captain a four-year deal on 'ridiculous money'.

Lloris has 18-months left on his Tottenham contract and whilst a move is unlikely to happen this month PSG are prepared to wait until the summer to bring the experienced 'keeper to their team.

Spurs in talks to sign Julian Araujo

Tottenham are rumoured to be in talks with USA international Julian Araujo with a view to completing the move in the summer transfer window.

The 19-year-old right-back currently plays for MLS club LA Galaxy and The Boot Room report that Araujo is a man in demand with Juventus also rumoured to be after his signature.

Araujo made his senior international debut last month for the United States and provided an assist in the 6-0 victor over El Salvador. Spurs are well-stocked in his position with Serge Aurier and Matt Doherty fighting to be the clubs no.1 right-back so the transfer of Araujo could mean the end for one of them
