Tottenham transfer rumours: Rose to Middlesbrough, £40m Brooks battle, Bale wants Rodon deal

The majority of Tottenham's transfer activity may be over this summer, but there's still a bit more time to bring in players.

Jose Mourinho has until 5pm on Friday, October 16 to bring in players from the lower leagues.

There could still be some exits too as some of the fringe players look to move on in search of more game time.

It's set to be a busy few days as the window draws to a close so here are the latest Spurs rumours doing the rounds.

The lowdown on Spurs' transfer window, Joe Rodon and what next

Rose heading up north?

Championship side Middlesbrough are plotting an audacious move for Spurs left-back Danny Rose.

The 30-year-old has fallen out of favour in north London and is wanted by Neil Warnock's side, according to Football Insider.

The two clubs do not have long to strike a deal but the player is keen to leave Spurs.

Rose is in the final year of his contract and Tottenham are willing to loan or sell him before Friday's deadline.

A move to Genoa earlier in the window collapsed and a return to the north could tempt the England international having played for Newcastle United and Sunderland on loan earlier in his career.

Move for Brooks

Tottenham remain interested in bringing Wales international David Brooks back to the Premier League.

The winger was relegated with AFC Bournemouth last season and has been linked with a number of clubs this summer.

Spurs and Liverpool remain keen on the £40m rated midfielder, according to MailOnline.

The Cherries do not have to sell him, however, having already got £20m for Callum Wilson and £41m for Nathan Ake.

Jason Tindall's side also face losing Josh King who has been linked with a move to West Ham United.

Bale 'sanctions' defender move

Superstar Gareth Bale has reportedly given Spurs the green light to sign his compatriot Joe Rodon.

The Swansea City defender has been linked with a move to Jose Mourinho's side.

Duncan Castles of the Transfer Window Podcast says Bale says Spurs should sign the centre-back to strengthen the backline.

Rodon, 22, has also been linked with Manchester United this summer.

Spurs have been keen to bring in a new centre-back and see Rodon as a realistic possibility having failed in bids with a number of players including Milan Skriniar of Inter Milan.
