Tottenham transfer rumours: Real Madrid tipped to complete £41m Spurs deal, Eriksen agent plans

This month's January transfer window ill be a quiet one across the Premier League.

Spurs spent close to £100million during the summer window, despite the coronavirus pandemic seriously dentine club finances.

Those deals have helped the club to mount a title charge this season and they are still in the race at the halfway point.

However, Jose Mourinho's side have had a slump in form recently, which could tempt the Portuguese head coach into the transfer market this month.

Here are the latest rumours regarding arrivals, departures and deal not yet done by Spurs...

Christian Eriksen latest

Christian Eriksen's agent is working on a deal to bring the Inter Milan midfielder back to England, says Inter CEO Guiseppe Marotta.

The former Spurs midfielder only left the club a year ago, initially on loan before making his move to Italy permanent.

Inter CEO Marotta has refused to provide more details on the deal when pushed by reporters in Italy but did reveal that the club's sporting director Piero Ausilio is working on making an Eriksen transfer a reality.

“Is there anything in England for Eriksen? Ausilio is working on it and when there is something concrete, we will be the first to inform you,” Marotta said, as quoted by Sport Mediaset.

Roy Keane's Gareth Bale theory

Roy Keane has questioned whether Jose Mourinho still wants Gareth Bale to stay at Tottenham.

The forward has played 116 minutes across the club's last seven games with only 45 of those coming in the Premier League.

Injury problems have hindered his Spurs return so far but even when fully fit it seems he remains out of Mourinho's best eleven.

Speaking to Sky Sports, as cited by football.london, Keane said:“I start to worry if Mourinho really wanted him. Maybe it was the chairman that brought him in because…not to be given many minutes.

He added: “Bizarre.”

Real Madrid tipped to trigger Spurs buy-back clause

Real Madrid have been tipped to trigger Sergio Reguillon's release clause at Tottenham by Tony Cascarino.

The former Chelsea man has been more than impressed with the full-back this term and was wowed by him once again this weekend in Spurs' win over Sheffield United.

It is reported that his former club, Real Madrid, have a £41m buyback clause available to them should they wish to lure the Spaniard back to La Liga.

Currently, Madrid legend Marcelo and younger teammate Ferland Mendy occupy the left-back slot at Madrid but with Reguillon's performances only improving the Spanish club could eye a return move.

"Tottenham paid £27.5million for Sergio Reguilón but Real Madrid have a £41million buyback clause available at the end of this season and next, and I cannot see why they wouldn’t exercise it," Cascarino said in the Times.

"He has shown he can play in a back four, and against Sheffield United, he shone playing in a five. He has loads of energy, gets up and down the wing and is a fine footballer and defender."
