Tottenham transfer rumours: Newcastle eye Dele Alli move as Spurs make contact over defender

Tottenham have made a very respectable start to the season but consecutive defeats have left them looking up at leaders Liverpool.

Jose Mourinho's men are suddenly six points off the pace and in need of a spark following the back-to-back defeats, including losses to Liverpool and most recently Leicester City.

Mourinho might have been content with his squad up until a fortnight ago, but those two defeats might have convinced the Portuguese boss to go back into the market to strengthen in the January transfer window.

With that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest Tottenham transfer rumours, starting in Italy with an in-demand centre-back.

Spurs have already made contact over Milenkovic

Tottenham have already made an offer for Fiorentina star Nikola Milenkovic, according to La Nazionale.

Milenkovic is said to be attracting plenty of interest with his contract up at the end of next season, though Fiorentina are unsurprisingly trying to tie him down to a new deal.

According to reports in Italy, Spurs are one of the teams interested and the report claims they have already made a proposal to the player's agent.

Fiorentina are asking for £22.7million for their star centre-back and that may even go up given the amount of interest the 23-year-old is attracting.

Alli linked with Newcastle United

Spurs midfielder Dele Alli has been linked with a move to Newcastle United amid his struggle for game time in North London.

Alli has been cast aside for the most part by Jose Mourinho this season, featuring sparingly in the Premier League despite doing well in the Europa League.

A number of reports now claim Steve Bruce and Newcastle are looking to offer the England international regular game time with a loan move in the January window.

Alli will be desperate to play more minutes and, as things stand, Mourinho could well be willing to plough on without him given he has opted to go with other options throughout this season.

Everton have also been linked with a loan move for the midfielder.

'Every club' would want Son

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville believes any team in the world would want to sign Spurs star Son Heung-min - even Liverpool.

“You cannot criticise Son or Mane, there’s no negative about them," he said on Monday Night Football. "They are both absolutely world-class.

“Every club in the world would want them – Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Liverpool would want Son.

“We just plugged the goals in and Son has just done better [than Mane] in a team that isn’t as good, but it’s no reflection on Mane.”

Thankfully for Spurs, it's not likely Son will be going anywhere any time soon.
