Tottenham transfer rumours: Ndombele offered exit route, Hojbjerg hint and Silva eyes move

Tottenham Hotspur have had a positive restart to the Premier League season after Tuesday night’s 2-0 victory over West Ham United.

This followed a 1-1 draw at home to Manchester United, with Jose Mourinho hoping to secure a Champions League spot.

The lure of elite European football would undoubtedly attract the top players to Spurs, with Mourinho’s first summer in charge in north London.

Mourinho plays down suggestions of rift with Ndombele

The rumours are still flying around, as clubs prepare for an unusual summer window, and with that being said, here are the most interesting Spurs-related transfer rumours.

Ndombele offered way out

Paris Saint-Germain could offer Tanguy Ndombele a way out of the club after the midfielder clashed with boss Jose Mourinho, according to the Metro.

Reports in France suggest that Ndombele is refusing to play under Mourinho, with the Portuguese having slammed his performance against Burnley in March.

And ESPN claim PSG could come to Ndombele’s rescue, with a loan option looking most likely with the Ligue 1 champions unwilling to pay his £60m price tag.

Hojbjerg hint

Ralph Hasenhuttl has hinted that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg doesn't want to extend his Southampton contract beyond the end of next season.

The 24-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from the club, with both Tottenham and Everton tipped to move for him as he will soon be in the final year of his contract.

And the Austrian has opened up on the current situation at the club regarding Hojbjerg.

“It’s important for the team to have a clear message of what we want to have," said Hasenhuttl, as reported by HampshireLive.

“The captain is a special position in a squad because he is the leader. He is normally going forward and steps ahead of everybody. He tries to push everybody.

“I don’t mean Pierre [Hojbjerg] cannot do this without his captain’s role. But in general it’s not absolutely perfect if you go into your last season being the captain and say, ‘I don’t want to extend my contract’.

“Then you must look for players who stay with us longer.

“I think it was a clear message from my side and both players (Hojbjerg and Ward-Prowse) understood it completely.

“It doesn’t mean I have a lower meaning about Pierre, because he knows that I really appreciate what he does for this club and how professionally he works for this team.

“He, as me, wants to be at the highest possible position in the table when he should leave for the summer. If he goes and we are eighth or ninth, then it would be fantastic for him."

Silva wants Premier League move

Thiago Silva is eyeing a move to the Premier League when his PSG contract expires with a number of sides reportedly interested.

According to Goal, cited by FourFourTwo, Everton, Tottenham and Wolves are all interested in signing the Brazilian.

Milan and Fiorentina have also been linked but the defender likes Premier League's competitiveness and wants to sample it before retiring.
