Tottenham transfer rumours: Milan Skriniar swoop, Merih Demiral enquiry, Carter-Vickers exit

Jose Mourinho has dug his teeth into the Tottenham squad ahead of his first full season at the club, landing a number of new additions.

Joe Hart, Matt Doherty, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Sergio Reguilon and Gareth Bale have all arrived, with Carlos Vinicius joining them on Friday.

Work is not done in the market yet though as Mourinho is eyeing a defensive recruit, while exits from north London are also on the cards.

Here, we have gathered some of the latest snippets surrounding Spurs.

Tottenham's Europa League draw reaction and review

Milan Skriniar swoop

Tottenham are preparing to make a fresh swoop for Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar after concluding the deal for Carlos Vinicius, the Evening Standard states.

Spurs initiated talks with the Italian outfit last month but, while they publicly stated they will not agree to an exit, Jose Mourinho's side are ready to test that resolve.

Skriniar is said to be Mourinho's top target to improve his options at the heart of defence, having lost Jan Vertonghen to Benfica this summer.

South Korean international Kim Min-jae remains an alternative option though should Inter stand firm on their stance.

Merih Demiral enquiry

Tottenham approached Juventus regarding a deal for defender Merih Demiral as Jose Mourinho eyes defensive reinforcements, Goal states.

The Turkey international is highly-rated in European football but has found regular action in Turin difficult to secure due to a wealth of competition.

However, Juventus still rate the 22-year-old highly and have informed Tottenham that they are not willing to discuss any sort of departure.

Their stance is strengthened by Daniel Rugani's imminent exit, as he is set to join Rennes on loan for the season.

Carter-Vickers battle

Bournemouth, Swansea City and Luton Town are all keen on signing Cameron Carter-Vickers permanently as Spurs prepare to sell, the Mail states.

The United States international, capable of featuring at the heart of defence or at right-back, is surplus to requirements in the eyes of Jose Mourinho.

Swansea and Luton both know the 22-year-old well following his loan stints in recent years, most recently with the Hatters last season.

However, early Championship pacesetters Bournemouth are also keen on the player who has one year remaining on his contract.
