Tottenham transfer rumours: Milan Skriniar meeting, £35m boost, Habib Diallo battle

Tottenham have made inroads during the summer transfer window but know more must be done.

Jose Mourinho's men have made an inconsistent start to the 2020/21 campaign with the hammering of Southampton coming on the back of a loss at home to Everton, while it's Maccabi Haifa next up in the Europa League.

Spurs, meanwhile, face Newcastle United at 2pm today but everyone concerned with the club also has one eye on the summer transfer window.

In light of this, here is the latest rumours round-up on Tottenham ahead of the October 5 transfer deadline.

Milan Skriniar wants Spurs move

Diallo transfer battle

Tottenham have been linked with a move for Habib Diallo in the summer transfer window.

But now it appears as though they have competition in the form of West Bromwich Albion.

The Baggies are also said to now be in the race to sign the 25-year-old striker, according to The Sun. The Metz forward is keen on a move to the Premier League.

Inter confirm Skriniar meeting

Inter Milan have confirmed a meeting with Tottenham over the potential sale of Milan Skriniar.

Spurs are looking to add defensive talent and Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio has spoken about the defender's situation at the club.

"I will not confirm any negotiations for Skriniar," Ausilio - who also ruled out a move for Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante - told DAZN, per The Evening Standard.

"There was a meeting with Tottenham, that is true, but we simply reiterated that Skriniar is not on the transfer market.

"We’ve already released Diego Godin from the defence and cannot think of losing Skriniar too."

Skriniar price drop?

Sticking with the reports on Skriniar and whilst the comments from Ausilio suggest a blow, there are more interesting stories on the grapevine which might provide a boost.

The Sun have reported that Tottenham could be set to land a huge boost in the race to sign the defender.

Whilst Skriniar may be valued at £55 million, The Sun are reporting that Antonio Conte wants Inter to drop their price tag for the 25-year-old to a much more modest sum of £35 million.
