It’s been an impressive transfer window for Tottenham Hotspur, as we approach the final day.
Spurs have spent almost £100million in the process as Jose Mourinho looks to improve on last season’s underwhelming campaign.
Gareth Bale, Sergio Reguilon, Matt Doherty, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Carlos Vinicius and Joe Hart have all arrived at the club this summer.
With just over 24 hours of the window remaining, here are the latest transfer rumours concerning Tottenham.
Spurs chase Skriniar alternative
Tottenham are now looking at Roma defender Juan Jesus rather than Milan Skriniar, according to Duncan Castles.
Speaking on The Transfer Window Podcast, it was claimed that Spurs are looking at the Brazilian centre-back as opposed to the Inter Milan defender, who has been heavily linked with a move over the past couple of weeks.
Castles said: “One other option that’s being floated as a possibility for a centre-back at Tottenham is the Roma former Brazilian international, Juan Jesus, who Roma want around €8m for.
“I don’t think that will be the preferred choice of the manager.”
Skriniar selected for Inter
Tottenham-linked Skriniar was selected in the Inter Milan starting line-up for their 1-1 draw with Lazio on Sunday afternoon.
The Slovakia international has been Mourinho’s top defensive target this summer, but the two clubs have been off in their valuation of the 25-year-old.
The deal now looks unlikely, with Spurs reportedly wanting to pay £30m and Inter demanding at least £50m for his services.
Now, with just over 24 hours of the window remaining, Skriniar was selected for Inter’s Serie A clash with Lazio - perhaps a big indication that he will be staying at the San Siro.
Foyth joins Villarreal on loan
Tottenham defender Juan Foyth has joined Villarreal on loan for the rest of the 2020/21 season, the club has confirmed.
Foyth, who has been in London since 2017, had not featured since December for Spurs and has now headed to Spain in search of first-team football.
However, it appears the Argentine central defender still has a future at the club - as he signed a contract extension until 2023 before joining the La Liga side.
A Spurs statement read: “Juan Foyth has signed a new contract with the club until 2023 and joined Spanish side Villarreal on loan for the remainder of the 2020/21 season.”
