Tottenham Hotspur qualified for the EFL Cup semi-finals with a midweek win over Stoke City.
The 3-1 victory comes after a three-game winless run in the Premier League, a disappointing recent triumvirate of results after an encouraging start to the season that saw Jose Mourinho's side considered potential title challengers.
Off the pitch, work continues with the January transfer window now just around the corner. Daniel Levy previously said that it will be a quiet period, given the current financial situation of many football clubs around the world, but Spurs have the opportunity to further build on a positive summer window.
With that in mind, we have updates on a potential midfield target, a loan departure and the future of a former midfielder.
Here is a round-up of the latest Tottenham transfer rumours.
Marten de Roon move eyed
Spurs and Manchester City are reportedly both eyeing a move for Atalanta midfielder Marten de Roon, who has previously had a spell in England.
De Roon spent the 2016/17 season with Middlesbrough before returning to Atalanta after just one year in the north east following relegation to the Championship.
And now, after establishing himself as a key component in Atalanta's vibrant attacking team, 90min reports that both Spurs and City are considering a move for the 29-year-old.
The report states that City are more interested in a summer move, but Spurs could aim to sign de Roon next month as Mourinho seeks out an additional midfield spark in a close title race.
Update on Jack Clarke loan
Per reports, Spurs are open to loaning out young prospect Jack Clarke, who made his debut for the club in October and appeared twice in the Europa League group stages this season.
Football Insider reports that the club are keen to provide the 20-year-old with more regular playing time.
Clarke had two loan spells last season, for Leeds United and Queens Park Rangers, but he did not feature regularly in either.
The report states that Mourinho would like to see Clarke start consistently, but understands he cannot provide such an opportunity at Spurs with the myriad of attacking players he has available to him.
Christian Eriksen will leave Inter Milan
Christian Eriksen will leave Inter Milan next month, Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta confirmed to Sky Sports Italy via The World Game.
Eriksen signed with Inter last year from Spurs but has hardly featured this season as Antonio Conte has turned to a 3-5-2 system that the Dane has struggled to establish himself within.
There have been significant rumours linking Eriksen with a January exit, and now Marotta confirmed that the midfielder would indeed leave.
"I can confirm that Christian Eriksen is on the transfer list," he told Sky Sports Italy. "He's going to leave in January.
"He's not functional to our plans and he had difficulty here at Inter. I think it's right that Christian goes away to find more space."
