Tottenham transfer rumours: Longstaff link, Milik latest, Ancelotti gives Alli verdict

Tottenham Hotspur's start to the Premier League season has been impressive - with Jose Mourinho's side topping the division after the opening 10 games.

Spurs have taken 21 points from a possible 30 so far, losing just once in the process.

This came after a busy summer transfer window that saw Mourinho sign a host of new players in order to take his side to the next level.

With that said, they could look to dive back into the market when the January window opens in less than a months' time.

Here are the latest Tottenham-related transfer rumours...

North London Derby Preview

Longstaff link

Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff has been linked with a move to Tottenham.

According to the Daily Mail, Longstaff has signed a deal with "super-agent" Pini Zahavi, prompting speculation that he could leave his hometown club.

The reports cites sources as saying Zahavi had previously told those close to Longstaff that he could sort a move to Spurs if he does not sign a new contract with the Magpies.

Longstaff, whose current deal runs until 2022, is also said to have attracted interest from Manchester United in the past.

Mourinho on Willian

Jose Mourinho says he was never interested in signing Willian over the summer due to his wage demands.

The Brazilian left Chelsea after seven years at the club during the last transfer window, and joined Arsenal on a free transfer.

The Mirror reports that the Gunners are paying Willian £250,000 per week.

Speaking ahead of Tottenham's clash with Arsenal on Sunday, Mourinho said: “We don’t have money for Willian.

"We cannot pay the wages that he gets at Arsenal so I didn’t want to waste our time because we cannot pay these wages.

“He is still dangerous, he is still one of the best players in the Premier League. Apart from that, he is a good friend. I have nothing to hide in relation to that.

“We keep in touch, we keep in contact, we call each other. We wish good things to each other. He is my friend and of course he is a very good player.”

Milik latest

Tottenham and Everton could try to sign Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik during the January transfer window, according to reports.

AS reports that the Premier League rivals remain interested in the 26-year-old forward, who is in the final year of his current contract.

Spanish side Atletico Madrid are also said to be keen on the Poland international.

Milik has not featured for Napoli this season but scored 14 goals in all competitions last term.

Ancelotti on Alli

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has played down speculation linking the club with a move for Tottenham star Dele Alli.

Alli has been tipped for a move away from Spurs after finding his first-team chances limited under Jose Mourinho of late.

Everton have been credited with an interest in the England international but Ancelotti told the Liverpool Echo: “No, it’s not true. It’s not true. We didn’t talk about Dele Alli.

"Personally I have a lot of respect for him because he is a fantastic player. But, as I say, he is a Tottenham player and I don’t like to talk about this.”
