Tottenham transfer rumours: Lewis Dunk setback, Robin Quaison contact, loan deal

Tottenham face a gruelling start to the 2020/21 season, with involvement in the Europa League qualifying and the Carabao Cup schedule leading to a mountain of fixtures.

Jose Mourinho's lack of squad depth was exposed at stages last season. both in attack and defence, raising the need for transfer activity.

Spurs have already moved to capture Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Premier League rivals Southampton and a host of other names are being linked with a move.

Here, we have gathered some of the latest snippets surrounding the club.

XI players linked with a Spurs transfer

Lewis Dunk blow

Tottenham are set for disappointment in the hunt to sign Brighton captain Lewis Dunk as Chelsea are closing in on a £40m deal, according to the Sun.

The Blues are said to have turned their attention towards the Seagulls skipper with West Ham demanding a whopping £80m for the England international.

As a result, Chelsea will rival Spurs in the market for Dunk and it appears that the west London side have stolen the lead in the hunt for his services.

Dunk is a lifelong Chelsea fan and is said to be keen on securing a move to Stamford Bridge.

Robin Quaison contact

Tottenham have made contact with Bundesliga side Mainz regarding a potential deal for striker Robin Quaison, according to reports from Germany cited by the Mirror.

Jose Mourinho is keen on providing support for Harry Kane through the middle ahead of the new campaign, particularly with a gruelling campaign lying ahead.

The 26-year-old Bundesliga striker managed to score 13 goals last season and he contributed to two assists as well.

Quaison has entered the final year of his contract with the German side, increasing Spurs' chances of signing the Swedish ace.

Luke Amos set for move

Luke Amos is on the verge of completing a move to join Queens Park Rangers permanently following his successful loan stint at the club, TalkSport states.

The 23-year-old struck up a close relationship with QPR boss Mark Warburton during his time at Loftus Road last season and is keen on continuing to work alongside him.

The Spurs academy graduate, who has also attracted interest from Middlesbrough, will put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

An official announcement is expected to be made in the next 48 to 72 hours.
