Tottenham transfer rumours: Konate interest, frustration for Rose and Gazzaniga future

The January transfer window may be closed for another season but that doesn't stop the transfer rumours from emerging.

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho will already have half an eye on how he can strengthen his squad in the summer market going into next season.

The planning never stops and Spurs' recruitment team will be keen to get one step ahead of their rivals over the coming months.

With that in mind, here are the latest Tottenham transfer rumours doing the rounds about players who may or may not be leaving and joining the club.

Tanganga, Dele verdict, Vinicius starting - Tottenham Talk

Konate coming in

Reports in Germany suggest Mourinho is eyeing up a RB Leipzig defender for a summer move to Spurs - and it's not Dayot Upamecano.

It's Ibrahima Konate, who can play either as a right-back or as a centre-back.

The 21-year-old is also attracting the interest of Manchester United and Liverpool so Spurs could face a battle for the Frenchman's services.

Konate is said to have a release clause of €40m which becomes active in the summer.

Goalkeeper future in doubt

Paulo Gazzaniga's long-term future at Tottenham is in doubt as he left the club late on deadline day.

The Argentine, who is out of contract in the summer, has joined Spanish La Liga strugglers Elche on loan for the rest of the campaign.

The former Southampton goalkeeper has not played a minute of senior football this season and was omitted from the club's Europa League squad.

He slumped to third choice in the pecking order in north London, behind both Hugo Lloris and Joe Hart so will be hoping this move helps his career get back on track.

Rose left frustrated

Out of favour left-back Danny Rose has been left frustrated after his move to Trabzonspor fell through.

The defender had been hoping of securing the move to get out of Spurs., where he has completely fallen out of favour.

The Turkish side had looked to give him a route out but the move colla[sed and he is now set to see out the season with the U23s.
