Tottenham transfer rumours: Jose Mourinho eyes £45m RB Leipzig star, Rudiger drops transfer hint

Tottenham Hotspur lost their second successive match on Sunday afternoon. A 2-0 defeat to Leicester City dropped Jose Mourinho's side to fifth in the table, collecting just one point from their last three games.

While the positive start to the season has slowed somewhat, off the pitch, Mourinho and co. will be keen to continue building a squad that has impressed in recent months.

The January transfer window is just around the corner, and Spurs are being linked with a slew of different moves, both incoming and outgoing.

We have an update on a £45 million star who Mourinho is reportedly considering pursuing. We also have updates on a former Spurs creator and a potential Premier League rival who could make the switch across London.

Here is a round-up of the latest Tottenham transfer rumours.

Mourinho's interest in RB Leipzig's Marcel Sabitzer

Mourinho is reportedly keen on bringing RB Leipzig's Marcel Sabitzer to north London as Tanguy Ndombele continues to be linked with a move away.

According to Mundo Deportivo via the Daily Mail, Leipzig could be forced to sell Sabitzer, whose contract expires in 2022.

Meanwhile, Ndombele has started his second season in north London excellently and has reportedly attracted interest from Barcelona. Should the Catalan giants firm up their reported interest in the Frenchman, Spurs could be forced to find a replacement, and Sabitzer is ostensibly viewed as the ideal target.

The 26-year-old is said to have particularly impressed Mourinho when Leipzig knocked Spurs out of the Champions League last season. He has more than 200 appearances for Julian Nagelsmann's side and was named to the Champions League Team of the Season last year.

Rudiger drops transfer interest

Antonio Rudiger has admitted that his situation at Chelsea is far from ideal, but he has vowed to fight for his place at Stamford Bridge.

The German has made just one appearance in the Premier League this season, with Kurt Zouma and Thiago Silva manning the centre-back positions for much of the campaign thus far.

However, despite reported interest from Barcelona and Spurs, Rudiger says he is "relaxed" regarding what will happen in January and has accepted that he must fight for more playing time under Frank Lampard.

"I can't be satisfied with my situation, but the fight has been accepted," he told ZDF via the Daily Express. "What will happen in January is a long way off. I'm completely relaxed."

United's tentative interest in Christian Eriksen

Per Gazzetta Dello Sport via Sport Witness, United have tentative interest in former Spurs creator, Christian Eriksen, who has struggled for playing time under Antonio Conte at Inter Milan.

Eriksen has not played a full 90 minutes all season and is reportedly keen to find regular football with the summer Euros on the horizon.

The report states that Inter will allow Eriksen to leave next month but are struggling to find potential suitors. Both United and Arsenal are said to have tentative interest in the Dane, though Corriere dello Sport adds that the Gunners are the more likely landing spot as they can include Granit Xhaka in a potential swap deal.

Spurs sold Eriksen 12 months ago as the midfielder had six months remaining on his contract and had refused any approaches regarding a possible extension.
