Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer window was impressive - with Jose Mourinho covering the key areas of the squad that needed improving.
Of course, the highlight for Spurs supporters was the re-signing of Gareth Bale, but the club’s business elsewhere should be considered equally as promising.
There could be even more signings from the London-based club in the January window, which is now just under three months away from getting underway.
Here are the latest Tottenham transfer stories.
Defender left ‘heartbroken’ after Spurs move collapses
Kim-min Jae was left ‘heartbroken’ that a move to Tottenham never happened this summer, according to South Korean outlet Naver (via Spurs Web ).
The South Korean defender was linked with a move for a lengthy period, but the deal reportedly collapsed at the last minute.
The 23-year-old is still a reported target, though, and could be looked at again in January.
Kim was left devastated after not getting his move to the Premier League, with South Korean football commentator Hyung Seo translating the article on Twitter.
Robinson tips Spurs to sign defender
Former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson has tipped his old club to complete the “fantastic signing” of Swansea City defender Joe Rodon later this month.
The domestic transfer window is open until October 16, meaning Spurs can sign players from the rest of the English Football League.
Rodon was reportedly close to joining Spurs on deadline day, and Robinson believes the Welsh centre-back would be an excellent addition at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Robinson told Football Insider: “Rodon is a very promising young player. I think it would be a fantastic signing for Spurs. He has experience at international level as well. He has got a big future ahead of him.”
Dembele reports contrast
Lyon striker Moussa Dembele was one of Tottenham’s “priorities” in the summer transfer window, according to L’Equipe.
The French publication reported that Spurs offered a loan deal to the ex-Celtic forward, but another outlet has rejected these claims.
Le10 Sport have said that Spurs never offered anything for Dembele, rejecting their fellow French publication’s claims.
This was before Mourinho completed the signing of Carlos Vinicius, who will provide support, or back-up, for Harry Kane this season.
