Tottenham transfer rumours: Joe Rodon latest, Dele Alli claim, striker talks revealed

The main summer transfer window has now closed following Monday night's 11pm deadline.

However, Tottenham and their Premier League rivals can still do business with EFL clubs until October 16.

And due to the schedule change as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, it will not be as long as usual until the January transfer window opens.

Tottenham have had a busy summer, bringing Gareth Bale back to the club on loan, while signing Sergio Reguilon, Carlos Vinicius, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Matt Doherty and Joe Hart.

On deadline day, Ryan Sessegnon went out on loan to German club Hoffenheim.

The news and speculation continues apace, though. Here is a round-up of some of the latest Spurs transfer rumours...

Man United 1-6 Spurs: Jose Mourinho press conference

Rodon interest

Tottenham are interested in Swansea City defender Joe Rodon - and could yet do a deal to sign the Wales international.

Although the main transfer deadline passed on Monday night, Premier League clubs can still do business with their EFL counterparts until October 16.

Spurs' attempts to bring in another defender have been frustrated up to now.

Talks with Inter Milan over Milan Skriniar came to a close without a breakthrough, while a move for Chelsea's Antonio Rudiger also failed to materialise.

Merih Demiral of Juventus was another name mentioned - but now attention have turned to Rodon.

It is reported that the 22-year-old could be available for a fee of around £18million.

Alli future

Dele Alli remains a Tottenham player after Monday night's transfer deadline - but there is still speculation surrounding his future.

Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with a move for the England international, who has found himself on the fringes of the first team under Jose Mourinho this season.

It has been reported that Alli will assess his options once again in the January transfer window.

BBC Sport's Simon Stone said: "Paris St-Germain are really interested in Dele Alli, but he has played the last couple of games for Tottenham.

"I think he is more likely to remain at Tottenham, at least until January, and then assess his options.

"The interesting thing is we are only three months away from the next transfer window opening and that puts a different light on the situation that everyone is in at the moment."

Rudiger's fan fear

Antonio Rudiger turned down a deadline day move to Tottenham over fears of upsetting Chelsea fans.

The defender had been tipped to leave Stamford Bridge, having dropped down the pecking order under Frank Lampard.

Spurs were interested in signing the German international, only for the deal to fall through at the 11th hour.

The Athletic reports that Rudiger wants to fight for his place at Chelsea and was "wary of the potential fall out from supporters for playing for one of Chelsea’s biggest rivals".

Barcelona and Roma were also linked with a move for the player.

Belotti revelation

Torino have confirmed that Tottenham made an enquiry about striker Andrea Belotti during the summer transfer window.

Belotti was linked with Spurs before the recent arrival of Carlos Vinicius on loan from Benfica.

And Torino Davide Vagnati has revealed there was a "chat" with the Premier League club about the Italy international.

“Belotti? I would like him to stay at Torino for life because he has all the values to be a mainstay and I hope he ends his career at Torino,” Vaganti is quoted as telling Sky Sport.

“There was a chat with Tottenham for him, but nothing serious because if Tottenham had really wanted to take him, they would have arrived with different arguments.”
