Tottenham transfer rumours: James Rodriguez linked, Spurs consider bid for Arsenal man

The new season is fast-approaching, now just three weeks away.

Spurs, like many of their rivals, are attempting to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.

And we have already seen a host of names tipped to make the switch to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

With that in mind, we have rounded up the latest transfer rumours and gossip surrounding the club.

Tottenham fixture list

Chelsea edging Spurs in Silva race

Tottenham could be set to miss out on PSG defender Thiago Silva.

Reports suggest Chelsea are in talks with the Brazilian ahead of his contract expiring following Sunday's Champions League final with PSG.

Tottenham have been linked with a move for Silva with Mourinho keen to add the experienced defender to his ranks this summer.

But it seems Chelsea may have edged in front with The Athletic reporting the Blues are in 'advanced talks'.

Spurs consider 'cheeky bid' for Arsenal man

Spurs are eying a shock move for Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

According to Four Four Two, Tottenham are considering making a 'cheeky bid' for the 22-year-old utility man.

The report claims Spurs will offer around £22m for Maitland-Niles.

Newcastle United are also said to be interested, but they are being tipped to offer a loan move with an option to buy.

Tottenham linked with Rodriguez

According to the Daily Mail, Spurs are among a host of clubs interested in Real Madrid star James Rodriguez.

The Colombian superstar could be on his way out of the Spanish capital this summer with Zinedine Zidane prioritising other midfielders.

And that has a number of clubs interested, including Spurs, Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Everton, Newcastle and Wolves.

Mourinho worked with Rodriguez at Real Madrid and it's said the midfielder could be available at a cut-price this summer.
