Tottenham continued their winning form in the Premier League by edging out Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday.
Harry Kane's penalty and a first Spurs goal for Gareth Bale since rejoining from Real Madrid, either side of Tariq Lamptey's equaliser for the visitors, secured the result for Jose Mourinho 's side who now sit behind only Leicester City and Liverpool in the league table.
The North London club made a number of additions to their squad during the summer transfer window, including Bale, his former Los Blancos team-mate Sergio Reguilon, Matt Doherty and Joe Rodon.
However, with January now less than two months away, Mourinho and Daniel Levy will already be working hard to scope out potential targets who can help Spurs through to the end of the season.
Here is Wednesday's round-up of the latest Tottenham transfer rumours and gossip.
Rudiger move in January 'unlikely'
Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger is not expected to join Spurs in January despite plenty of previous interest.
The Germany international was close to sealing a loan switch across the capital on deadline day last month, but talks fell through at the eleventh hour.
According to a report by Football Insider, the move will not be resurrected during the winter transfer window due to concerns from Spurs surrounding the potential cost of a deal.
It is said that this was the stumbling block during the summer, with a deal being worth over £10million in total.
Chelsea were reportedly looking for a multi-million pound loan fee as well as demanding Spurs pay 100% of Rudiger's £150,000 per week salary for the duration of the deal.
Spurs and United to scrap over Serie A star?
Both Tottenham and Manchester United are interested in signing central defender Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina.
The 23-year-old is said to have told the Serie A outfit that he does not wish to commit his future to the club, with the player looking for a switch to either a top Italian side or another club elsewhere in Europe.
Spurs and United have emerged as top suitors and could face off in a bidding war for Milenkovic's services in January, according to Calciomercato.
The defender has played every minute of Fioretina's Serie A campaign so far, and scored during the 3-2 win against Udinese last month.
Alli tipped for possible United move
Troubled midfielder Dele Alli has been backed to make a sensational move to Manchester United, should Mauricio Pochettino be appointed as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's replacement.
The Norwegian boss has seen his role come under scrutiny in recent weeks, with Pochettino having been heavily linked with the Red Devils previously.
Alli has struggled for form under Mourinho's leadership and was hauled off at half-time against Royal Antwerp last week after making his first start since September.
talkSPORT 's Adrian Durham has suggested that Pochettino could look to resurrect the 24-year-old's Premier League career with a move to United if he is appointed manager in the near future.
"“Now has come the time to break the ties with Tottenham Hotspur and move on for a different challenge, wherever that may be,” he said.
“If there is a vacancy at Man United and Pochettino gets the job, I can see him taking Dele Alli there and revitalising him.
“Dele Alli has had his football heart broken by Jose Mourinho."
