Tottenham transfer rumours: Dele Alli tipped for loan switch, agent reveals Alario decision

Tottenham currently sit one point outside the Premier League's top four in sixth place ahead of Sunday's match against Brighton and Hove Albion.

The North London outfit will be looking to bounce back from a dismal Europa League defeat in midweek at the hands of Royal Antwerp.

Jose Mourinho was busy over the summer making a number of additions to his squad, the biggest of which saw club legend Gareth Bale return on a season-long loan from Real Madrid.

Spurs also signed Carlos Vinicius, Sergio Reguilon, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Joe Rodon but may decide to dip into the winter transfer window in order to strengthen further ahead of the business end of the season.

With January fast approaching, here is a round-up of the latest Spurs transfer rumours and gossip.

Mourinho frustrated with players as Spurs lose out to Royal Antwerp

Alli urged to depart on loan

Former Spurs striker Clive Allen has told the club to ship troubled midfielder Dele Alli out on loan in January in order for the 24-year-old to recapture his form of old.

Alli has struggled since Mourinho's arrival and was one of four players hauled off at half-time during Thursday's defeat in Belgium.

“If Spurs are clever they might well loan him to a team where he could start to find form, which he needs, because he’s desperately short of confidence,” Allen told talkSPORT on Friday.

“He was very sloppy last night. I think he probably has to move away from Spurs for a while to try and rediscover the doubted talent he has."

£42m target plays down interest

Fiorentina's Gaetano Castrovilli has announced his intention to earn a new deal with his current club rather than seek pastures new in January.

The 23-year-old has been tracked by Spurs for some time with scouts having been sent to Italy to watch him in action.

Surprise league leaders Everton are also said to harbour an interest in the £42m-rated midfielder.

Castrovilli told Gazetta Dello Sport : “Can I renew until 2025? I’d like to. I’m fine in Florence, Fiorentina is like a family for me, so if the opportunity arises, I would certainly be happy (to sign a new deal).”

Leverkusen star rejected summer switch

Lucas Alario turned down a loan move to Spurs during the summer, according to his agent.

The 28-year-old has been on fire in the Bundesliga this season, scoring three times in just four appearances.

He had the opportunity to sign for the North London club on a temporary basis but decided to stay in Germany, with Spurs instead landing Vinicius from Benfica.

“We had opportunities to go out on loan and he chose to stay,” his agent Pedro Aldava told TNT Sports.

“We had the chance to join Tottenham on loan who are a top side, but to watch the matches from the stands, it didn’t work for us.”
