Tottenham transfer rumours: Danny Ings stance on Southampton exit, Liverpool battle for Barella

Across the Premier League, the January transfer window is looking like it will be a quiet one and so far it has been at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as well

Despite the coronavirus pandemic seriously denting club finances, Tottenham were able to spend Spurs spent close to £100million during the summer window.

Those deals have helped the club to mount a title charge this season and they are still in the race at the halfway point.

Jose Mourinho's side, however, have had a recent dip in form winning just two of their past seven Premier League games, which could tempt the Portuguese head coach into the transfer market this month.

Here are the latest rumours regarding arrivals, departures and deal not yet done by Spurs...

Danny Ings contract

Danng Ings is stalling on signing a new contract at Southampton and this is creating a lot of interest in the striker from around the Premier League.

Ings is reported to want a release clause inserted into the new deal, and this seems to be the major issue between him and the club. The Daily Mail is reporting that Tottenham are keen on adding the 28-year-old ranks, and Ings is open to the move providing Spurs secure Champions League football next season.

Ings briefly played in the Champions League for Liverpool, featuring in the 2018 semi-final for Liverpool, but his career at the Reds was often blighted through injury.

Ings is reported to be keen on a move away from St Mary's as long as there is Champions League football on offer at his next destination.

Nicolo Barella attracting interest

Spurs are reported by The Guardian to be keeping a keen eye on Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella, who has been orchestrating things for former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte in Serie A.

Since making his debut for Inter in 2019 Barella has been running the show from midfield with a very impressive assist record to his name.

Spurs are not the only ones to be rumoured to be showing an interest in the 23-year-old, Premier League Champions Liverpool are also keen on the young Italian who would cost an almighty sum seeing as his contract does not expire until 2024 and Inter are not thought to be looking to cash in any time soon.

Rose finally leaving?

Wantaway left-back Danny Rose could finally be leaving Tottenham for good if reports from Turkey are to be believed. The 30-year-old former England defender has made no secret of his desire to leave Spurs and he may soon be finally getting his wish

Rose spent the second half of last season on loan at Newcastle but the club was unable to offload him in the summer transfer window.

Since then Rose has been training with the youth teams and has made a handful of appearances with them in order to keep his fitness up.

The Daily Mail has reported that Trabzonspor are keen on bringing Rose to the club but with the full-back out of contract in the summer they do not want to pay a transfer fee for him.

Rose is looking for a way out of Tottenham and the Mail report that he will consider buying out his contract if that is what it takes to make the move happen.

If Rose were to make the move he would be following in former-England teammate Daniel Sturridge's footsteps, the striker played for the club in 2019 in a spell that only lasted 16 matches before his contract was terminated.
