Tottenham transfer rumours: £45m Zaniolo bid rejected, Aarons concerns, Lo Celso to Juventus

Tottenham are preparing for their first full season under the guidance of Jose Mourinho and transfer deals are on the cards for the coming weeks.

Spurs have already bolstered their ranks with the signing of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton and the capture of Joe Hart on a free transfer.

Mourinho is not done yet though and a number of names continue to be linked with a move to north London before the start of the season.

The ultimate lowdown on Zeki Celik

Here, we have gathered some of the latest snippets surrounding Spurs.

Nicolo Zaniolo bid rejected

Tottenham have seen a £45m bid for Roma ace Nicolo Zaniolo rejected by the Serie A side, according to Corriere Dello Sport via Sport Witness.

Zaniolo has been linked with a move to the Premier League ever since breaking onto the scene at the Stadio Olimpico and Spurs attempted to secure an eye-catching deal.

However, their offered was rebuffed by the Italians and, following their takeover this summer, it has been made clear that Zaniolo will not be going anywhere.

It's added that similar proposals had been made by Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona, suggesting Spurs would have had a stern fight to land his services.

Max Aarons concerns

Tottenham's hunt for a new right-back has hit a snag as Jose Mourinho is having second thoughts about making a move for Max Aarons, the Athletic states.

Spurs have already shipped Kyle Walker-Peters off to Southampton permanently and Serge Aurier is widely reported to be closing in on a move to AC Milan.

Norwich City's Aarons has long been touted as the replacement Spurs will eye but it's now suggested that Mourinho harbours concerns about the young defender.

It claims that Mourinho has had a look at the 20-year-old and thinks that he might struggle to produce the kind of performances that he wants from his right back.

Giovani Lo Celso exit

Italian champions Juventus are poised to make a move for Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso, according to Calcio Mercato.

The Argentine is said to have been a target for the Turin giants before he moved to Paris Saint-Germain from South America and are now looking to rekindle their interest.

Lo Celso endured a difficult start to life in the Premier League under Mauricio Pochettino but found his rhythm following Jose Mourinho's arrival.

Spurs would certainly command a hefty fee for the midfielder, with it added that Mourinho has deemed the 24-year-old to be an integral member of his squad.
