Tottenham transfer news: Spurs eye move for Serie A sensation as Pedro Porro plan emerges

A festive round-up of the latest Tottenham Hotspur transfer news on Saturday December, 25.

Patrici pushing for Kvaratskhelia deal

Tottenham Hotspur managing director Fabio Paratici is said to be trying to push through a move for Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia ahead of the January transfer window.

The Georgian sensation has enjoyed an electric start to life in Naples, netting six goals and providing five assists in just 12 Serie A outings after joining the club from Dinamo Batumi in July.

Such form has helped Luciano Spalletti's side remain unbeaten so far this season and establish an eight-point lead at the top of the table. He also netted twice as Napoli won their UEFA Champions League group.

Subsequently, it is little surprise that Italian outlet Calciomercato claim that interest is emerging from England. Spurs do, however, face competition from Liverpool for Kvaratskhelia if reports are to be believed.

Pedro Porro plan

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly scrap the 50 per cent sell-on clause in Marcus Edwards' Sporting Lisbon contract as a bargaining chip to sign Pedro Porro from the Portuguese giants.

One potential area in need of strengthening in north London is the right wing-back role. Sitting fourth in the Premier League at Christmas, Conte is currently able to call upon the likes of Emerson Royal, Matt Doherty and Djed Spence in that position.

However, the former has received heavy criticism for his inconsistent displays this season, whilst Doherty and summer arrival Spence appear not to be fully trusted by Antonio Conte.

According to reports from Portugal, Spurs' hunt for reinforcements has led them to the Jose Alvalade Stadium, where they were defeated 2-0 in the UEFA Champions League. football.london understands Porro is a wide player that the club like.

Leicester's January James Maddison stance is outlined

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers believes their rivals will resist the temptation to lure James Maddison from the King Power Stadium next month.

The Foxes are in a precarious position over the England international as his contract is due to expire in the summer. Last summer they had to swat away interest with Newcastle lodging multiple bids.

Spurs have emerged as potential candidates for the playmaker and could eye a move for the soon-to-be free agent.

The January transfer window is just around the corner which will see rumours and speculation intensify. However, Rodgers has asserted his intention to keep the 26-year-old. "I've been given no indication that we have to do anything with James in January," he told reporters.
