Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus are exploring the possibility of a loan deal with an obligation to buy for Paulo Dybala, as a permanent deal before the 5pm deadline is now seen as impossible.
The issue of the player's image rights have proven a huge complication, and would still make any temporary deal very difficult, but all sides are working hard to try and make it happen.
All terms have otherwise been agreed, with Juventus keen to sell due to their wage-turnover ratio and the fact there is now no clear place for Dybala in Maurizio Sarri's team.
The player is also willing to join Spurs, and especially Argentine compatriot Mauricio Pochettino, seeing them as a far more attractive prospect than Inter Milan.
Juventus will likely try to move Dybala to the San Siro if the English deadline passes with no deal.
The 25-year-old is however furious at the situation he's been put in by the Italian champions.
Spurs hope to tie up deals for Ryan Sessegnon and Giovani Lo Celso before the deadline.
Both players are understood to have undergone medicals on Thursday morning after agreements were reached with both Fulham and Real Betis respectively in the last 24 hours.
