Tottenham transfer news: Conte wants £42.5m star 'at all costs', Lo Celso targeted

Tottenham have already signed six players in a breathless £100 million summer trolley dash – but Antonio Conte's spree may not be over.

The Spurs boss has already seen six new faces come through the door in north London, while more could be set to follow. Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, Djed Spence, Richarlison, Yves Bissouma and Clement Lenglet have all arrived over the summer to bring a fresh air of positivity around the club.

But with more than a month of the transfer window still left to play out, Spurs continue to be linked with several big names. Here Mirror Football has gathered the latest transfer gossip involving Tottenham.

Conte plotting Zaniolo bid

Spurs are allegedly preparing a new bid for Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo after their first bid was knocked back by the Italian club.

According to reports in the Quotidiano Nazionale, Spurs fancy their chances of landing 23-year-old Zaniolo after their former head coach Jose Mourinho's coup in landing Paulo Dybala on a free transfer following the Argentine's exit from Juventus.

Fabio Paratici, Tottenham's sporting director, has already made contact with the player's agent, Claudio Vigorelli, and Roma are bracing themselves for another move for £42.5 million-rated Zaniolo, who was previously on the books of Inter Milan.

Rome media outlet CMW claim Conte wants to land Zaniolo “at all costs” - and the fee reflects the player's growing reputation as the “Italian Steven Gerrard.”

Napoli keen on Lo Celso

Napoli have earmarked out-of-favour Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso as a potential replacement if they lose Polish star Piotr Zielinski to West Ham.

According to Area Napoli, Spurs are prepared to let Lo Celso leave for around £16.8 million or on loan with an obligation to buy after 12 months. The Argentine schemer was farmed out to Villarreal on loan last season and, despite making a favourable impression, the Spanish club fear his fee and personal terms will be out of their range.

That leaves Naples as a likely destination for 26-year-old Lo Celso, but Tottenham are likely to take a hit on the £27.2 million they paid for him in January 2020.

Spurs eyeing potential McKennie swoop

United States midfielder Weston McKennie is on Paratici's shortlist, and at £34 million he would be within Tottenham's range.

But according to the Daily Mail, Juventus are reluctant to part with their 23-year-old midfielder – who scored four goals in 29 appearances last season – while the extent of Paul Pogba's knee injury remanc unclear.

Wanted man: Weston McKennie (Jonathan Moscrop)

The Old Lady paid £18.5 million to German club Schalke 04 for McKennie last year after a successful loan period, and although he has three years left on his contract, coach Max Allegri has warned his first-team opportunities could be limited.

Tottenham are aware of the impasse and, although it is all quiet on the Weston front for now, they could lodge a bid if Pogba's knee condition requires only a short-term absence.
