Tottenham told what they need to do to ensure Harry Kane remains at the club beyond next season

Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara has said that Spurs striker Harry Kane will leave next summer should the club not win silverware during the season.

Kane has established himself as one of the world’s top strikers since breaking into the Tottenham team.

The 27-year-old has scored 143 Premier League goals and is highly tipped to challenge Alan Shearer’s Premier League goalscoring record.

Despite his success in front of goal, Kane has been unable to help Spurs to lift any silverware during his time in the first team at the club.

Given his goalscoring record, speculation over Kane’s future has been rife, with the player himself refusing to rule out a future move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier in the season.

Speaking on TalkSPORT , O’Hara has said that Kane will only wait so much longer before looking elsewhere for trophies.

“He’s 27 and if he doesn’t do it next season, I think he has got to leave. Spurs need to win a trophy next season,” he said.

“I think if you win the FA Cup and get in the top four, you keep Harry Kane.

“If you just get in the top four next season and you don’t win a trophy, I think it’s time that Harry Kane moved on.”

Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and even Manchester United have been credited with interest in Kane, whose contract at Tottenham still has four years left on it meaning that the club could demand a hefty fee.
