Tottenham to deny Harry Kane 'dream' Man City move and more transfer rumours

Harry Kane will be denied a 'dream' summer transfer to Manchester City this summer, it's been reported.

The Tottenham superstar has been linked with a move away from the north London outfit as he targets trophies in his career and with Pep Guardiola keen to replace Sergio Aguero with the best possible option, Kane was one of the names at the top of the wish list.

But according to The Telegraph, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has made the decision to keep hold of Kane this summer to help the squad push for a Champions League place again under a new manager.

That means the England striker, who has yet to score at Euro 2020 in two games, faces bitter disappointment at missing another year of football at the highest level.

It's believed that City are strongly interested, but aren't willing to drag out the saga throughout the summer in a way that Spurs have done in the past with the sales of Luka Modric and Gareth Bale which both went through during the final week of the transfer window.

Manchester United are said to also hold an interest but are prioritising Jadon Sancho as their marquee signing, while City's interest in Jack Grealish could gazump the move for Kane because it could be seen as easier to do.

Elsewhere, Portsmouth are interested in signing City youth goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu on loan for the 2021/22 season according to The Sun.

The 19-year-old Republic of Ireland international has yet to make his senior debut at the Etihad Stadium, but spent last season on loan at Rochdale and made 32 appearances as they suffered relegation to League Two.

Bazunu impressed enough to earn four caps for his national team despite playing in League One and now Portsmouth are keen to bring him back to the division next season for them, with City unlikely to stand in his way of regular minutes. He has also been linked with a move to Burton Albion in the same division.
