Mauricio Pochettino has said that the Tottenham Hotspur medical staff are conducting tests, which will continue into next week, in an effort to solve the mystery that was Dele Alli’s dizzy spell at Norwich City on Tuesday night.

The 19-year-old England midfielder, who has been one of the stars of the season so far, was forced off at half-time, with Pochettino saying he had begun to feel unwell in the dressing room minutes before the start of the second half.

The manager said that the club were no closer to finding out what had happened but he was confident it was not a serious problem and he confirmed that Alli should be available for selection against Watford at White Hart Lane on Saturday.

“Today, he was good,” Pochettino said. “We need to assess tomorrow but all the signals are good. I don’t know why he was dizzy. We need to do some tests next week but we have very good medical staff.

“We are not worried. We need to assess him and we need to know why [it happened] but we are sure it’s not a big problem. We need to have some control. He feels good now but tomorrow, we need to assess him again. All normal, [he] will be available for Saturday.”
