Tottenham to complete Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg signing this weekend as Kyle Walker-Peters heads to Southampton

Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will complete his move to Tottenham this weekend, with Kyle Walker-Peters heading the other way.

Both deals have been kept separate but fees of £15million for the Dane and £12m for the English defender have been agreed.

Hojbjerg will now discuss personal terms with Tottenham, which is expected to be a formality given the player's desire to join Jose Mourinho's team.

Mourinho has been an admirer of Hojbjerg for some months, with Spurs registering tentative interest in the 25-year-old during the January transfer window.

The Spurs boss is keen to bring in a more combative midfielder to allow his creative talents to flourish further forward, while Hojbjerg has been outspoken about his desire to play at a higher level.

The former Bayern Munich midfielder to keen to move on from Southampton and challenge for both the Premier League title and in the Champions League.

Southampton had initially set an asking price of £35m for their former captain, but Spurs have sealed a deal for less than half that amount.

Walker-Peters moved to Saints on loan in January and impressed when given a run in the team following the season restart.

Scott Parker, who worked with Walker-Peters when a coach at Spurs, has shown late interest in hijacking the deal following Fulham's promotion to the Premier League, but Southampton are confident the move will be made permanent in the coming days.
