Tottenham to beat Man City to £68m Erling Haaland alternative and more transfer rumours

Manchester City will have to pay £68million to sign their Harry Kane and Erling Haaland transfer alternative.

That's according to 90 Min which, citing reports from Italy, suggest Fiorentina have set an asking price for Serbian frontman Dusan Vlahovic amid Premier League interest.

Dubbed previously by the man himself as 'the new Zlatan Ibrahimovic', the 21-year-old has underlined his growing reputation with 10 goals in 12 appearances this season.

Eight of those strikes have come in Serie A.

Vlahovic touched down in Italy from Partizan Belgrade in 2018 and has, subsequently, emerged as one of the most highly-rated young strikers in Europe - scoring six goals in his first 12 outings for Serbia.

Armed with a physical presence as well as that eye for goal, the Fiorentina man has several clubs scrambling for his signature right now - including City, Tottenham and Saudi-backed Newcastle as a result of their seismic £305million takeover.

A separate report from Italian outlet La Nazione - as per this article from Team Talk - argue Tottenham are in pole position for Vlahovic, who has been earmarked as an alternative to Kane or Haaland for City.

Elsewhere, cash-strapped Barcelona have ramped up their interest in Raheem Sterling ahead of a January swoop.

Previously linked with the England sensation as he continues to play second fiddle to Phil Foden and £100million man Jack Grealish this season, a huge blow regarding Argentina star Sergio Aguero has ramped up their search for attacking options.

Aguero will spend the next three months 'resting' after being diagnosed with a heart condition.

That has left the Catalan giants short on the selection front - with Sport hinting Barcelona and their potential new coach Xavi are 'keeping a close eye' on Sterling.

Due to financial issues at the Nou Camp, a would-be price tag comes into the equation, although the same article points to the strong relationship between Barcelona president Joan Laporta and key figures in the City boardroom.

Sterling has, previously, suggested that he would be open to a move abroad, as well.
