Tottenham team vs Liverpool confirmed: Mourinho starts Davies, Aurier and Doherty, Fabinho out

Jose Mourinho has stuck with the back three as Tottenham Hotspur welcome Liverpool in the Premier League on Thursday night.

There is one slight twist though for Spurs as in the absence of the injured Sergio Reguilon, Mourinho has picked two right-backs in Serge Aurier and Matt Doherty.

That means one of them could start the game as a left wing-back against an injury-hit Liverpool side, unless Aurier plays as the right-sided centre-back with Ben Davies at left wing-back.

Jurgen Klopp's men are without Fabinho but Jordan Henderson returns and it would seem in the centre of defence.

Gareth Bale returns to the bench after his goalscoring start in the FA Cup but Dele Alli and Giovani Lo Celso remain out injured.

Here is the team that Mourinho has chosen to face the Reds at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Lloris; Dier, Rodon, Davies; Doherty, Hojbjerg, Ndombele, Aurier; Bergwijn, Kane, Son. Subs Hart, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Winks, Sissoko, Bale, Lamela, Lucas, Vinicius.
