Tottenham team confirmed vs Vitesse: Conte starts Kane, Son and Davies as Ndombele named sub

Antonio Conte has named his Tottenham XI for the very first time after replacing Nuno Espirito Santo in the hotseat on Tuesday.

Having only taken on the job two days ago, it is straight down to business for the experienced head coach with Vitesse Arnhem on the agenda in the Europa Conference League.

Currently third in Group G after losing 1-0 against Thomas Letsch's men two weeks ago, Spurs must win to put themselves in a good position to progress through to the next stage of the competition.

With Espirito Santo previously mixing things up in Europe, Conte has gone full strength in such a crucial game for the team.

It does appear that the head coach will operate with a back three consisting of Cristian Romero, Eric Dier and Ben Davies, with Sergio Reguilon and Emerson Royal utilised as wing-backs.

Harry Kane and Son Heung-min start in attack alongside Lucas Moura, while the likes of Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, Dele Alli and Steven Bergwijn start on the bench.

Having faced the media on Wednesday afternoon to preview the Vitesse game, Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris was asked by Spurs TV about the European fixture and he outlined the importance of a win having lost in Arnhem last time out.

"Yes, because we are full of ambition in this competition and we're not in a good position in the table. It's a must-win game," said the Frenchman.

"There's still three games to play in this group stage and we have ambition to finish first and to go through to next round.

"For that we need to deliver a big performance, not only for this competition but just to start well the new process under Antonio Conte."

Here is the Tottenham team Conte has named for his first game in charge of the Lilywhites:

Tottenham XI: Lloris; Romero, Dier, Davies; Emerson, Hojbjerg, Skipp, Reguilon; Lucas, Kane, Son

Substitutes: Gollini, Austin, Doherty, Sanchez, Winks, Rodon, Lo Celso, Alli, Bergwijn, Tanganga, Ndombele, Scarlett
