Tottenham team confirmed vs Pacos de Ferreira: Harry Kane starts as captain as new signings play

Harry Kane starts his first match for Tottenham Hotspur this season as they welcome Pacos de Ferreira in the Europa Conference League play-off second leg.

In the wake of Kane's announcement that he is staying at Spurs this season, Nuno Espirito Santo has named the England captain in his starting XI and he captains the team.

This could be the perfect opportunity for Kane to increase his fitness and perhaps get some goals if the Portuguese decides he's ready to start ahead of Sunday's Premier League match against Watford.

Elsewhere decisions had to be made over which of the starting XI at Molineux would start again to strengthen the Tottenham team.

At centre-back, Cristian Romero is back after a minor knee injury, but Joe Rodon and Cameron Carter-Vickers remain out injured.

Eric Dier comes into the team in what looks to be a back three, while Ryan Sessegnon starts once again at wing-back after last week's European performance.

Tanguy Ndombele and Serge Aurier are not registered for the match, while Moussa Sissoko has not featured in the past week with his future unclear at the club.

Here's the team Espirito Santo will start with:

Gollini; Doherty, Romero, Dier, Davies; Sessegnon; Winks, Lo Celso; Lucas, Kane, Gil.

Subs: Austin, Reguilon, Hojbjerg, Sanchez, Son, Alli, Bergwijn, Skipp, John, Scarlett, Paskotsi, Markanday.
