Tottenham team confirmed vs Leyton Orient: Dane Scarlett in first Nuno Espirito Santo XI

Nuno Espirito Santo has chosen his first starting line-up as Tottenham Hotspur head coach as his side travel to Leyton Orient for a pre-season friendly.

The match at The Breyer Group Stadium will see both teams compete for the JE3 Foundation Trophy - played in memory of former Spurs defender and Orient manager Justin Edinburgh, who died two years ago.

From every match ticket sold, £2 is being donated to The JE3 Foundation, set up in his memory and aiming to support UK heart health charities and to campaign for legislative change – Justin’s Law – to make it compulsory for all health, fitness, and sports facilities to be equipped with a Public Access Defibrillator (PAD).

Espirito Santo has chosen a squad with a blend of senior players and younger academy players, having told football.london on Friday that he did not want to push some first team players too hard after a tough week of pre-season training.

Joe Hart starts in goal for the visitors, while Eric Dier captains the side, starting in central defence alongside Cameron Carter-Vickers, with youngsters Kallum Cesay and Maksim Paskotsi as full-backs.

In midfield are Nile John and Harry Winks, with Lucas Moura, Dele Alli and Steven Bergwijn playing behind 17-year-old striker Dane Scarlett.

Here is Espirito Santo's first Tottenham side.

Hart, Cesay, Carter-Vickers, Dier (C), Paskotsi, John, Winks, Lucas, Dele, Bergwijn, Scarlett. Subs: Whiteman, White, Clarke, Eyoma, Fagan-Walcott, Omole, Bowden, Lyons-Foster, Mundle, Devine, Parrott.
