Tottenham team confirmed vs Burnley: Gareth Bale and Lucas start with Dele and Dier on bench

Jose Mourinho has named Gareth Bale in a Premier League line-up for Tottenham Hotspur for the first time since the defeat at Brighton.

However, the 31-year-old Welshman has been in fine form since then and gets the chance to have an impact in a match against Burnley that Tottenham must win after five defeats in their past six in the competition.

Dele Alli also impressed in the midweek Europa League match against Wolfsberger but he is back on the bench as he looks to regain his full match sharpness and fitness.

Serge Aurier returns at right-back after his injury and in the centre of defence Davinson Sanchez comes back in to the side to partner Toby Alderweireld with Eric Dier dropping to the bench.

Tanguy Ndombele and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg continue their midfield partnership, which leaves Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko kicking their heels on the bench.

Lucas Moura gets the nod in the attacking role in between Son Heung-min and Gareth Bale.

There is no place on the bench for Steven Bergwijn, Joe Rodon or Japhet Tanganga.

Here is the Spurs team Mourinho has chosen: Lloris (C), Aurier, Sanchez, Alderweireld, Reguilón, Højbjerg, Ndombele, Lucas, Bale, Son, Kane. Subs: Hart, Doherty, Dier, Davies, Winks, Sissoko, Dele, Lamela, Vinicius.
