Tottenham target Krzysztof Piatek grew up an Arsenal fan admiring Gunners legends Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp.
Standard Sport understands Spurs will attempt to recruit a new striker this month following news that Harry Kane will not return to training until April having reputed the tendon in his left hamstring.
AC Milan striker Piatek is among their list of targets with the Poland international available following Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s return to the San Siro.
While it’s unlikely to matter much should Piatek arrive in north London and help Tottenham in their bid for a top four finish, the 24-year-old may at one time have had aspirations of playing in the red half of north London.
“As a child I was an Arsenal fan, I really liked Wenger’s team playing style and admired champions like Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp,” he told Tuttosport in September 2019.
Piatek joined Milan from Genoa last January and finished the season with 22 Serie A goals – nine of those with the Rossoneri.
This season has proven tougher however, netting four times in 18 matches.
