Tottenham supporters noticed what Son Heung-min did at full-time following Liverpool defeat

The Tottenham Hotspur squad and coaching staff will be hurting from Sunday's defeat away at Liverpool.

Perhaps none more so than Son Heung-min.

Having not won away from home in the Premier League since January, it was always going to be a tough ask for Spurs to become the first team since May 2017 to win at Anfield in the league.

Although they made a fantastic start when Harry Kane scored after just 47 seconds.

And after riding their luck for the remainder of the first-half, Son had a great chance to double the lead early in the second half but smacked his effort against the crossbar.

Liverpool would go on to make the Lilywhites pay for that missed chance as Jordan Henderson scored soon after and Mohamed Salah completed the turnaround from the penalty spot.

At the final whistle it was visible as to how much the defeat hurt Son.

As spotted by Spurs fans on Twitter, there is a clip which focuses on the South Korea international's reaction at the end of the game and he has his hand on his knees following an embrace with Virgil van Dijk.

As the video continues and Son begins the applaud the travelling supporters he puts his hands together appearing to apologise for his miss at 1-0 which turned out to be a turning point on Merseyside.

Some of the reaction to Son's gesture has been to urge him to be more clinical in front of goal.

Take a look at what's been said on the social media platform...

Spurs are back on Merseyside this weekend as they face a struggling Everton side at Goodison Park hoping to taste victory on the road in the Premier League for the first time in almost 10 months.
