Tottenham suffer fresh transfer blow as Julian Nagelsmann eyes Bayern Munich reunion

Fabio Paratici and Nuno Espirito Santo are working hard behind the scenes in order to get Tottenham's squad in the best possible condition with the 2021/22 season looming.

So far, Paratici has been able to bring two players to Spurs - Pierluigi Gollini (loan) and Bryan Gil - but the club's new director isn't done just yet.

Cristian Romero is close to completing a move to Tottenham, football.london understands, with the north London club agreeing on a £42.7million deal with Atalanta.

Spurs have also been linked with a new central midfielder before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

One name that has been linked throughout the past two summers is Marcel Sabitzer of RB Leipzig, but the Austria midfielder looks as if he could have handed Tottenham a major transfer blow.

German news outlet BILD are reporting that negotiations between Leipzig and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are now underway for the 27-year-old.

Sabitzer has recently entered the final 12 months of his contract at Leipzig and the report from Germany claims that he has no interest in renewing his deal at the Red Bull Arena.

Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann coached Sabitzer during his time as Leipzig manager, and also promoted him to captain in the process.

Sabitzer, when speaking to the press back in April earlier this year, opened up on his future with Leipzig.

He said: "As far as I know, I have a contract until next summer. So I'm in no hurry at the moment.

"But of course, a decision will have to be made at some point. Of course, I won't reveal how it will turn out here."
